Leviticus 18:22, anyone?

It seems that the allegedly reverend Ted Haggard, pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs (hometown of the U.S. Air Force Academy) and a featured performer in the film Jesus Camp, put himself on a leave of absence from his church today and resigned as President of the National Association of Evangelicals. He has also been a key advisor to President Bush on relations with the evangelical community. Why did he resign? This morning on talk radio in Denver, a male prostitute claimed he has been employed in that profession by Pastor Haggard for the last three years, about once a week at $200 to $300 a pop, as it were, and further that haggard Pastor Haggard sometimes used methamphetamines ("crystal meth") to enhance his sexual experience. Of course, Pastor Haggard denies even knowing the male escort, but the escort claims to have voicemail messages to prove otherwise.

Leviticus 18:22, by the way, is one of the Bible verses most often cited against homosexuality — never mind that Jesus himself never said a word about it.

As for Pastor Haggard and his now-soured relationship with his alleged paid friend, I hear that James Guckert (Jeff Gannon) is available.
